Heart on Your Sleeve (HOYS) is a creative identity project designed to build confidence, resilience and self-esteem through competence. Rather than focusing on confidence as something that can simply be taught, HOYS creates structured opportunities for young people to develop skills, solve problems, make decisions and create something meaningful that represents who they are. Through a process of journaling, reflection, design and making, participants explore their identity, values and experiences, transforming personal insights into wearable creative outcomes. By combining creativity with purposeful skill-building, HOYS demonstrates how confidence is often the result of doing, creating and achieving, rather than simply believing.
